Body Roller Massage FAQ – Questions and Answers
Ready for an out-of-this-world deep tissue massage that you can control and optimise for your comfort? Though it’s lovely having a massage therapist knead your tight muscles, many people are finding the use of wooden massage machines highly effective.
Like when you use a foam exercise roller or a handheld wooden roller, the Body Roll massage machine is a satisfying and therapeutic modality for releasing muscular tension in all your major muscle groups.
But you may have some pressing questions about the technology and its benefits. So, let’s get those questions answered!
What is the Body Roll massage?
The Body Roll massage is a revolutionary piece of equipment featuring:
- Fully automated massage machine with a touch screen display
- A customisable program that is easy to follow
- Infrared light technology warms muscle groups as it rolls, increasing therapeutic benefits
- You control the intensity of the massage by how much you lean into the rollers
What are the benefits of the Body Roll Massager?
Sports and Fitness Recovery
After an intense workout, you may not yet feel muscle aches and pains immediately. Usually, it is on day two that you realise everything hurts. To prevent this from occurring, many people have found that using a foam roller post-workout helps relieve tightness and muscular tension.
Foam rollers are usually used on the floor. Sitting on an exercise mat, the user leans into the roller, moving it as it rolls into the muscle group. It can be rather uncomfortable trying to get into position using foam rollers. Often the roller moves and doesn’t stay in the correct placement. The constant repositioning can be frustrating when all you want is some relief.
The Body Roll massager is a highly sophisticated wooden roller and massage machine that spins automatically and is controlled with a touch screen display. The display guides you through 15 positions that systematically relieve each muscle group.
All you need to do is place yourself in the specified position to receive these benefits. Muscle recovery benefits can be obtained in just one session; however, most people love it so much that they return regularly. Another great way to get muscular recovery is through NormaTec Sports and Fitness Recovery System.
Stress and Relaxation
The destressing benefits of using the Body Roll Massager are very apparent. Guests leave feeling relieved like they have left all their aches and pains behind.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
The lymphatic system is part of the immune system and is responsible for detoxifying the body. Its mechanism of action is in the deep tissue rolling massage that releases toxins from the body.
Body Sculpting Cellulite Treatment
Often referred to as a Body Shaper, Body Sculpting Roller, or Roll Shaper, the BodyROLL massage machine helps you achieve a firm body without overdoing it at the gym.
Cellulite typically appears in specific body regions where there is less blood circulation. The lymphatic system stimulates increased blood circulation in those areas of need. The high lymphatic outflow allows the toxins trapped in fat cells to be released and transported out of the body. This, in turn, reduces the appearance of cellulite.
What should I expect from a Body Rolling Session?
At BodySpace Recovery Studio, we offer 30, 45 and 60-minute treatment sessions. For your first session, Chelsea will guide you on how to use the BodyRoll and the 15 positions featured on display.
Who does body rolling benefit?
Anyone looking for deep tissue or remedial massage
Anyone looking for the ultimate in sports and fitness recovery. The Body Roller is fantastic after an intense workout or for sports recovery.
Perhaps you feel zapped from long work hours or being on your feet for too long. The body roll massager is a therapeutic and relaxing massage that helps you destress.
What should I wear?
For safety reasons, guests are asked to wear fitted clothes such as sportswear/ activewear. Strictly no zippers, loose pockets, jewelry or loose items that could get tangled/stuck in the rollers. A sports tank top with long leggings or “skins” works well. You will also want to wear socks for the foot massage (although it is not required)
How often can I use it?
We recommend a BodyRoll session after a heaving training session or after a long day of physical activity.
For body sculpting, we recommend 3 x 45-minute sessions a week for the first 10 sessions, followed by 1 session per week thereafter for maintenance.
What if I’m Pregnant?
Sorry. BodyRoll massage is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
